Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Srinjoy Bose has been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam.
Bose is the second lawmaker to be arrested in connection with the Saradha chit fund scam. According to reports, Bose was arrested after he arrived at the CBI office for interrogation earlier today.
Former Trinamool Congress MP Somen Mitra was also asked to appear before the CBI for questioning.
"Before coming to CBI office, I had a high impression about the efficiency, IQ and effectiveness of CBI. But when I am leaving this house with a poor impression of what I used to hear about CBI, they are not interested about the source of corruption and corrupt people. They called me for only one letter I wrote to CBI," Mitra told reporters here.
Earlier this month, Trinamool Congress MP and Saradha scam prime accused Kunal Ghosh was hospitalized after he allegedly tried to commit suicide in jail.
