Sarah Paulson is set to star as the infamous nurse of the diabolical 'Nurse Ratched' for Netflix series.

'Nurse Ratched' is a fictional character and the main antagonist of Ken Kesey's 1962 novel 'One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest,' as well as the 1975 film.

A cold, heartless tyrant, 'Nurse Ratched' has become the stereotype of the nurse as a battleaxe.

Netflix has given the series a two-season with eighteen episodes.

According to E! Online, Ryan Murphy will produce the new series alongside producer Michael Douglas, who was part of the original 1975 movie.

Writer Evan Romansky will write and create the series.

The series is about a mental institution, overseen by the psychopathic 'Nurse Ratched,' who takes terrible advantage of her power over all of the hospital's patients, subjecting them to various horrifying treatments and keeping order in the hospital through fear.

This is not the first time the pair would be working together; Paulson is currently starring in Murphy's anthology horror series 'American Horror Story.'

She will also star in the Katrina instalment of Murphy's 'American Crime Story,' based on the book 'Five Days at Memorial' by Sheri Fink.

The production of the series is slated to begin sometime in mid-2018.
