Spending nearly eight months in a Bengaluru prison after being convicted in corruption charges, V. K. Sasikala on Friday was granted a five-day parole relief with conditions, to visit her ailing husband M. Natarajan in Chennai.
Evicted as the chief of Tamil Nadu's ruling AIADMK, Sasikala has been given emergency parole but she is restricted only to visit the hospital where her husband M. Natarajan is admitted and she is allowed only to stay at the residence as mentioned in her application.
During the parole period, she is not supposed to entertain any visitors either at her residence or at the hospital.
The 61-year-old is also not supposed to involve in political, public or party activities.
She is banned from interacting with the media as well, be it press or electronic medium.
Sasikala, who was denied parole earlier this week, had requested 15 days parole to attend to her husband. Her husband has been hospitalised for the last nine months due to kidney and liver ailments.
