Saudi Arabia has reportedly nabbed 88 men who were "on the verge of implementing" planned terror attacks inside the country and abroad.

Maj. Gen. Mansour al-Turki, Interior Ministry spokesman, said on Tuesday that the arrested men came from six different terror cells located in four regions of the country, including Mecca, reported the CNN.

The ministry said that most of those who were arrested were Saudi citizens, three were Yemenis and one has not been identified yet. Some had sent their sons to terrorist organizations abroad.

The arrests have come in the wake of a nationwide security operation launched by the government in Saudi Arabia.
