A Saudi man was spared from getting 30 lashes as punishment after he wanted his wife to whip him instead for abusing her over a period of time.
According to Gulf News, the court in Saudi Arabia ruled that the defendant be given 30 lashes for abusing his wife and apologise to her for the bad behaviour.
However, after the verdict was given, the man pleaded with his wife to forgive him and use the whip instead as her happiness mattered to him.
In this bizarre incident, the man later prompted his wife to forgive him convincing her to tell the court that he was pardoned, ensuring that he would treat her with honour and dignity.
