Dustin Diamond, who is better known for his role as Samuel Screech from 'Saved by the Bell', has been convicted of two misdemeanors in stabbing case from a barroom fight.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the American actor said that some people had wanted to shake his hand and pose for photos at the bar, but that others were "badgering" him and his girlfriend, Amanda Schutz.

The 38-year-old actor said that he was trying to scare bar patrons in Port Washington after his girlfriend was punched in the face.

Diamond said that he felt like they were being set up for antagonistic purposes.

The man who was stabbed, 25-year-old Casey Smet, testified that he didn't know he had been stabbed until he had left the bar and was talking to police.

The jury's verdict came just hours after the 38-year-old actor testified that he never intended to stab anyone in the fight last Christmas Day and Diamond had pleaded not guilty to a felony charge of recklessly endangering public safety, plus two misdemeanors carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct.
