The Supreme Court on Friday declined to give an urgent hearing into a plea filed by lawyer Manohar Lal Sharma seeking an investigation into the alleged suicide of former Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Kalikho Pul.

The apex court bench headed by Chief Justice of India Jagdish Singh Khehar also refused to hear Sharma's plea for inquiring into the letter purportedly written by the late chief minister.

Earlier in February, Pul's first wife Dangwimsai withdrew her plea filed in the apex court seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into his death.

Dangwimsai had earlier filed a plea in the apex court, seeking a direction for registration of an FIR and investigation into the case.

In an appeal to the Chief Justice of India, she alleged that her family was getting threats and she was advised not to hold the press conference in which she made the late chief minister's suicide note public.

Pul was found hanging at the official chief minister's residence in Itanagar on August 9 last year.
