Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notice to the Delhi Police on a bail plea filed by suspected Indian Mujahideen (IM) member Fasih Mahmood in connection with his alleged involvement in an illegal arms factory case.

A division bench of the apex court, headed by Justice A. M. Khanwilkar, asked for a detailed reply from the Delhi Police within next two weeks.

Fasih Mahmood, a mechanical engineer, was picked up by the Saudi Police from his home in the industrial city of Al Jubail on May 13, 2012, for aiding a terrorist activity in India.

He was later arrested by the Delhi Police from the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.

Earlier, Mahmood challenged the April 17 Delhi High Court order which had denied him bail in a case relating to setting up of an alleged illegal arms factory in the national capital.
