The Supreme Court on Friday stayed the observation of the Delhi High Court on the Anti Corruption Bureau's jurisdiction over Delhi Police and central government officers.The apex court also issued notices to the Delhi government and others on a Special Leave Petition (SLP) filed by the Government of India.
"There was a SLP filed by the Union Government with respect to certain observations made in a bail application judgement by the High Court, certain unwarranted observations with respect to the May 21 notification. The Supreme Court of India, after hearing the matter, prima facie realised the merit in the case of Union of India," said lawyer Aman Sinha.
"They have issued notices on the SLP of Union of India. They have issued notices on the stay applications. All the unwarranted observations which were there in Para 66 have been stayed by the Supreme Court," he added.
The Delhi government has been given three weeks time to respond to the SLP.
