The Supreme Court on Friday will hear the appeal filed by sitting Madhya Pradesh High Court judge, S.K. Gangele, against the state judges' inquiry committee.

Justice Gangele refused to follow the procedure laid down by the inquiry committee and knocked the doors of the apex court.

Justice Gangele is accused of sexually harassing a lower court judge in the state.

The sitting judge has approached the Supreme Court contending that the procedure, which is being followed by the Judicial Inquiry Committee, is in violation of Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution.

Meanwhile, Vice President Hamid Ansari had already initiated an impeachment motion against the High Court judge based on a petition by 58 Members of Parliament.
