Scarlett Johansson is all set to don the director's hat with the film adaptation of Truman Capote's unpublished novel 'Summer Crossing'.

The movie will tell the story of a 17-year-old Protestant debutante, who begins an affair with a Jewish parking-lot attendant while her family vacations in Paris during the summer of 1945, Contactmusic reported.

The 28-year-old actress is confident that the project, which is currently being pitched to potential investors at Cannes, will be a success.

Johansson said in a statement that several years ago, she began working with the Capote estate and writer Tristine Skyler to adapt the book, which is an inspired early work of Truman's which has long captured her heart.

She added that being able to bring this story to the screen, as her full-length directorial debut is a life dream and deep privilege.
