A school building was damaged on Friday due to a landslide in Surankote in Jammu and Kashmir.

The students have been shifted to other branches of the school in Rajouri and Jammu.

No casualties have been reported so far.

Jammu and Kashmir was recently hit by unprecedented floods leading to the death of hundreds of people and stranded millions of others.

Over 2,00,000 people have been rescued since the floods arrived in the state and communication networks have also been mostly restored.

The Army has deployed about 30,000 troops for rescue and relief operations and soldiers distributed 2,24,000 litres of water and food to survivors. In a gesture of solidarity, staff at the Indian Prime Minister's Office (PMO) also gave up one day's salary for flood relief.
