School kids of the Kathmandu branch of the Kendriya Vidyalaya, belonging to the classes four, five and six greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi upon his arrival here for the upcoming South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit.

The children were decked in their uniform and waved the tricolour enthusiastically as the Prime Minister reached Kathmandu.

"We waved the Indian flag and serenaded him with claps. I am impressed with his Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and I appreciate the fact that he regularly interacts with children," Devanshu Ratheria, one of the school kids told ANI.

For another student, meeting Prime Minister Modi was a dream come true.

"I feel very happy. I had always wanted to meet the Indian Prime Minister and it was a dream come true," Ananya said.

Meanwhile, other students were in awe of meeting the famous India personality.

"I can't still believe that I have met such a famous personality like him," Alankrita said.

Earlier, today, the Prime Minister was given a guard of honour on his arrival to the country.

In a statement prior to his departure for Kathmandu, Prime Minister Modi said that the development of close relations with India's neighbours was a key priority for his government.

Prime Minister Modi is also expected to hold bilateral discussions with other South Asian Heads of State and Government on the margins of the SAARC Summit.

This will be his second visit to Nepal within four months, where some concrete agreements in the areas of connectivity and development cooperation are expected to be concluded.
