Stricken Formula One legend Michael Schumacher's wife Corinna Schumacher has issued a personal message saying thanks to the motor sport's fans ahead of this weekend's German Grand Prix at Hockenheim.

Corinna wrote in the official race program to say thanks to Formula One fans for their good wishes and positive energies sent to the former racing driver who was critically injured in a skiing accident in France at the end of last year.

According to CNN, Corinna wrote that the German Grand Prix has provided her with the perfect opportunity to cordially thank all the fans for the good wishes and positive energies they keep sending to her husband.

She further wrote that the fans' sympathies literally blew them all away, adding that it is good to know that together they made it through the hardest time.

Last month, Michael's agent Sabine Kehm had said that the seven-time world champion was no longer in a coma and had been transferred from the French hospital in Grenoble, where he had been recovering from a severe head trauma, to University hospital in Lausanne, Switzerland to continue his long phase of rehabilitation.

Corinna said that they are currently facing a phase, which would presumably take a long time and that time would be her husband's ally in the fight, adding that until then she would like to wish the fans and their families all the best as well.
