Former Chelsea winger Andre Schurrle has said that he is pleased to receive a text message from Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho who gave him the good news that he will receive the Premier League winners' medal.

Schurrle had made 14 Premier League appearances and scored three goals for Chelsea before his 22 million pound move to Wolfsburg in February.

Schurrle, who was a member of the World Cup winning Germany team, said that he was not expecting to receive the medal as he didn't play most of the second half of the season, the BBC reported.

A winner's medal in the Premier League would mean that Schurrle could possibly end with a hat-trick of medals this season. He was the World Cup winner with Germany in Brazil, while his current side Wolfsburg will play Borussia Dortmund in the German Cup final on 30th May.

Schurrle had joined Chelsea in June 2013 for 18 million pounds, but made only 20 appearances for the club in the Premier League.
