With majority of voters rejecting independence in the referendum yesterday, Scotland has chosen to stay in the United Kingdom.
According to the declaration made by 30 of the country's 32 council areas after Thursday's vote, a record 1,877,252 people have voted against independence as opposed to 1,512,688 who have supported it. The winning total needed was 1,852,828. The margin of victory is about 55 percent to 45 percent, reported the BBC.
As the two-year campaign culminated in the referendum yesterday, talks have now begun to devolve more powers to Scotland.
