The second SAARC regional workshop on child labour is beginning here tomorrow to chalk out and promote comprehensive and gender-sensitive approaches to understanding and responding to child labour; showcasing strategies and initiatives that have promoted learning and action to ending child labour and protecting adolescents at work; and fostering cooperation through the SAARC mechanisms and partnerships on the issue.
The workshop will also be a platform of sharing of knowledge and experience amongst SAARC member countries.
The three-day long workshop for SAARC member countries is being jointly organized by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India and V.V. Giri National Labour Institute in collaboration with the International Labour Organization.
