Security alert: Punjab Police writes to Centre, asks for additional 15 companies

The Punjab Police have written to the Centre asking for additional 15 companies in wake of security alert due to the firing at Gurdaspur that took place yesterday morning.

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Law and Order Hardeep Singh Dhillon told this to ANI.

Meanwhile, the Border Security Force (BSF) earlier today seized an abandoned Pakistani boat from Tota Guru post (Dera Baba Nanak post) on Ravi river in Punjab.

However, Inspector General, BSF Anil Paliwal said the boat was seized but nothing was found within it, adding that an investigation is currently underway.

The BSF yesterday opened fire after suspected infiltration at Chakri post of Gurdaspur sector of Punjab.

 

However, the BSF confirmed that there was no retaliation of fire from the other side, adding that it was not at all trans IB.
