Security has been beefed up in Jammu and Kashmir following the militant attacks in Samba and Kathua districts of the state.

Brigadier RS Rana had earlier said the possibility of the presence of terrorists in Samba who had attacked an army camp could not be ruled out, adding it appears that those responsible for the terror attack came from Pakistan.

"We cannot rule out the presence of terrorists in the area. No identify has been established till now. Looks like they wanted to barge into the cantonment but because of the security alerts they could not. Looks like they have come from Pakistan," said Brigadier Rana.

The attack in Samba came less than 24 hours after six people, including two militants, were killed in an attack on the Rajbagh police station in the state's Kathua district.
