Security beefed up in valley after IED recovered in Baramulla

Security has been beefed up after security forces received specific input of planting of IED at Srinagar-Muzaffarabad national highway.

A joint operation was also launched by the security forces and 53 Battalion CRPF SOG Baramulla.

The security forces started searching the area on Monday night and spotted suspicious ground and some wire. Soon after, the SOG, Baramulla and 53 Baramulla CRPF and BD squad was called upon and an IED of 10 kilograms was recovered.

This came a day after massive CASO carried out by security forces in adjoining area of Fatehgarh area of Sheeri Baramulla.

The threat was timely detected by 53 Battalion CRPF and duly nullified.

 

The forces have intensified their efforts and are remained on high alert in the valley. The security has also been tightened in the national capital ahead of the Republic day

Earlier in the day, two locals were injured in IED blast triggered by naxals in Chhattisgarh's Jagargunda.
