Security expert Alok Bansal on Thursday expressed serious concern over Hyderabad emerging as the new hub of Islamic terrorism and called for concerted effort to tackle this emerging threat.

"Hyderabad is emerging as a new hub as far as Islamic terrorism is concerned. Earlier, we had students from there trying to go and join Islamic State, now you have got people trying to join Al Qaeda," Bansal told ANI here.

"This is a very very grave threat that is facing our country and I think a time has come when the country needs to make a concerted effort to counter this emanating threat which has become extremely serious and is going to create problems in times to come," he added.

The Hyderabad Police has reportedly arrested two youths from Maharashtra who allegedly were planning to go to Afghanistan to get training from the Al Qaeda and carry out attacks on Indian soil after retuning back to the country.
