In an encounter with Naxals on Thursday evening in the Kandekal jungle of Dhanora taluk of Gadchiroli district , the security forces gunned down one Naxal woman .

Huge quantities of arms and ammunition have been seized by the forces. The police have also recovered some Naxal literature.

The encounter ensued after the Naxals fired at the police search party in Kandekal jungle.
"We retaliated when fired upon, the gun battle lasted for about 30 mins. Rest of them managed to flee," Superintendent of Police Sandeep Patil said.
