Twenty two years after her death, 'Queen of Tejano' Selena Quintanilla is finally receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Quintanilla will officially become the 2,622nd star to be honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on November 3 in Los Angeles, reports Billboard.

The late Mexican-American singer's family is scheduled to gather for the dedication ceremony, along with actress Eva Longoria and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, who will also proclaim the date as "Selena Day."

Hollywood Chamber of Commerce had first announced in 2016 that the Tejano music icon would be honored with a star.

The function will be held in front of the Capitol Records building.

Selena's contributions to music and fashion made her one of the most celebrated Mexican-American entertainers of the late 20th century.

She was the first Tejano artist to win a Grammy and was considered a pioneer for Latin artists' crossing over into the mainstream, and continues to inspire young Latinas.

Born on April 16, 1971, her life was tragically cut short when she was murdered at the age of 23 in 1995 by the president of her fan club in Corpus Christi.

On October 17, to mark the album's anniversary of the late singer, which was debuted on the same day i.e., on October 17, 1989, Google commemorated the life and legacy of one of Latin music's most formidable star with a joyous musical animation that pays a moving tribute to the trendsetting musician who rose to fame in the '80s.
