A two-day seminar on spice cultivation was organised by the Spice Board of India in association with Department of Horticulture of Tripura in Agartala.
The seminar was inaugurated on Monday by the Joint Director of Indian Council of Agriculture Research Dr. M. Dutta.
The seminar was aimed to promote spice cultivation among the farmers, particularly those tribal farmers who got land under the Forest Right Act.
The experts explained the technology and the post harvest value addition process in production of spices to more than 100 farmers, who attended the event .
Tripura was once good at production of spices but it had gone down over the years and the Spice Board is trying to revive it.
