The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) benchmark Sensex, which fell over 200 points initially today, recovered its losses to end flat at 19,997.45 on the back of gains in shares of metal and banks.
The Sensex had lost 166 points, or 0.8 percent, to 19,832 in afternoon trade today.
Meanwhile, the rupee hit a high of 63.07 per dollar, up over one per cent as against Tuesday's close of 63.84. As of 4 p.m., the rupee traded at 63.55 per dollar.
