Separatists called for a complete shutdown in Kashmir over the alleged conspiracy by the BJP and the RSS to settle non-state subject refugees to change the demography of the state.

All shops, business establishments, schools, colleges and govt offices will remain shut and public transport will be off the roads.

Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Yasin Malik had announced to lead a quit Kashmir movement to Lal Chowk today.

"BJP has already announced to give refugees the State Subject status. These nefarious designs and conspiracies are being hatched to defeat our resistance movement and to change the demography of Jammu and Kashmir, which is a Muslim-majority state," Malik had said.

He had also asked people to march towards Lal Chowk to resist the 'nefarious designs of enemies of Kashmiris.
