World number one Serena Williams suffered her "worst" loss in 16 years as she was beaten 6-0 6-2 by Simona Halep at the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Finals in Singapore.
Williams said that "embarrassing" was the word that described the way she played at the Finals and admitted that she had served better in Junior Tennis, reported the BBC.
The 33-year-old was 16 when she failed to win more than two games in 1998 and lost 6-1 6-1 to Joannette Kruger in Oklahoma City.
The WTA loss has ended William's 16-match winning streak at the end-of-year tournament, which she has won for the last two years and four times in all.
Twenty-three-year-old Halep, who ousted Williams, said that she had played "the best match of my life.
