Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has suffered a dislocated left shoulder during his side's 4-0 Champions League win over Shakhtar Donetsk, the Spanish club confirmed.
The 29-year-old captain had to be substituted shortly after landing heavily on his shoulder while attempting a dive in the opposition penalty area at the Bernabeu on Tuesday.
A club statement said that the player had been diagnosed with dislocated acromioclavicular joint in his left shoulder after the tests carried out on him in the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, adding that his condition would be evaluated, the Guardian reported.
Ramos immediately took to Twitter after the news was announced: "Always with a smile, whatever happens. Working hard to come back stronger."
Adding to Real's injury woes, Gareth Bale was seen limping from the field with an ankle injury.
