A session court here on Wednesday rejected bail application of journalist Vinod Verma, who is now in judicial custody following his arrest in an alleged blackmailing case.
Hearing the application, Additional district and sessions judge Jitendra Kumar Jain said Verma could not be granted bail as he had made an obscene video of the victim, which has led to his slander in society.
"This conspiracy is serious," The judge said.
Verma's lawyer will now appeal for bail in the High Court.
Verma was arrested last month on an FIR filed by a man over a certain 'vulgar' video that features his boss. He was sent to judicial remand till November 13 by the court during a hearing on October 31.
The journalist has maintained that he possessed 'a sex CD 'of a state minister.
