The Congress' youth wing staged a protest outside the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) office here on Saturday over the controversy surrounding sacked minister Sandeep Kumar and demanded that Delhi Chief Minister must step down while taking moral responsibility for the indecent acts committed by his party colleagues.
The protesters also demanded the expulsion of AAP leader Ashutosh for backing Kumar.
Delhi Pradesh Youth Congress President Amit Malik said if Ashutosh doesn't apologise before the country then they will lodge an FIR against him.
"Either Kejriwal is wrong or Ashutosh is wrong. Either suspending Sandeep Kumar is wrong or Ashutosh's blog is wrong," he added.
Raising slogans against Kejriwal and waving IYC flags, the protesters tried to march towards the party office but were stopped en-route by the police.
Kejriwal, in a video address on Thursday, said he was "saddened" by the incident but also felt "proud" that his party took immediate action and "did not try to put a veil on it or defend the accused, unlike what other political parties do."
Kumar, who held the portfolio of Women and Child Development, on Thursday alleged that he was being targeted under a "conspiracy" as he was a Dalit.
