Self-styled godman Asaram Bapu will be produced before a special judge in Gandhinagar on Tuesday in connection with the sexual assault case against him, a day after he was grilled by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) in Ahmedabad.
The sexual assault case was lodged by two Surat-based sisters-one against Asaram and the second against his son Narayan Sai.
According to a television channel report, the incident took place in Asaram's ashram in Ahmedabad, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Chandkheda police station.
The elder of the two sisters has accused Asaram Bapu of sexually assaulting her between 1997 and 2006 at his ashram, while the younger sister has filed a complaint against Sai, accusing him of repeated sexual assaults between 2002 and 2005 at the Surat ashram.
Narayan Sai, who ios absconding, and his father have filed petitions before the Gujarat High Court seeking a quashing of sexual assault complaints against them. Sai has also filed for anticipatory bail in a court in Surat.
