Pressure is reportedly mounting on retired Supreme Court Justice A.K. Ganguly to quit as the head of the West Bengal Human Rights Commission (WBHRC) over his alleged role in a sexual harassment case.

BJP leader Sushma Swaraj said in her tweet on Tuesday:"I strongly feel that Justice A.K. Ganguly should resign as Chairman of WB Human Rights Commission."

A silent protest was held outside the Commission headquarters in Kolkata on Monday demanding the resignation of Justice Ganguly.

However, in an interview to CNN-IBN, former Attorney General of India Soli Sorabjee said Ganguly's resignation would set a bad precedent.

Justice Ganguly is on record, as saying that he was shocked and shattered by the allegation and denied all the charges saying he was a victim of circumstances.

He had added that the intern was like a child to him and had worked with him.

"I am a victim of circumstances," he claims.
