President of the Republic of Seychelles James Alix Michel on Wednesday said his visit to India will further strengthen the strategic and bilateral relations between both the countries.

"It is always been enthusiastic to feel the heartbeat of world's largest democracy and its modern economic dynamism, which is an inspiration to all," said President Michel in his joint statement here.

"The vibrant Indian community which is part and partial of the long history of our country is a catalyst in bolstering the strategic partnership and our convergent bilateral interests," he added.

He further said that the agreements signed between both the countries in finance, agriculture, air connectivity and maritime security will pave the way for enhancing the bilateral relations.

"This visit has reinforced my conviction in the strength and importance of this partnership," President Michel said.

Earlier, the visiting dignitary was accorded ceremonial reception this morning at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan.

President Michel inspected the Guard of Honour. The visiting dignitary also laid wreath at the Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.

The President of the Republic of Seychelles is on a three day visit to India.
