Shakira has made a stinging remark against a councilman, who accused the popstar of promoting "lesbianism" in her 'Can't Remember To Forget You' music video featuring Rihanna.

According to EFE, Gerard Pique's girlfriend said that in a country like their where there are so many needs: a health system that needs to be improved, an education system that needs to be expanded, employment that needs to be generated - for a councilman to use his voice and his time to talk about a video by an artist like me means that they're not doing too well councilman-wise, the Huffington Post reported.

The video featuring Rihanna had premiered on January 30 and has had more than 150 million views on YouTube since its debut.

Earlier this month, conservative Evangelical council Marco Fidel Ramirez of Bogota had denounced the video via Twitter, saying that it was "SIMPLY DISGUSTING" and an "unabashed glorification of lesbianism."

He had also campaigned online to get Colombia's national TV authority to ban the video on the grounds that it was immoral and promoted lesbianism and tobacco consumption.
