Stoke City have finalised the signing of Xherdan Shaqiri from Inter Milan on a five-year deal for a club-record fee of 12million pound.
Reflecting on his new acquisition, Stoke manager Mark Hughes said that Shaqiri is a dynamic and explosive player who would bring something different to the group, the BBC reported.
The 23-year-old Switzerland winger moved to the Serie A club from German champions Bayern Munich in January. He has also scored 17 times in his 46 appearances for his country.
Shaqiri will receive a fee higher than that of Peter Crouch, who was roped in following a then club-record fee of 10million dollars from Tottenham in 2011.
