Defending French Open champion Maria Sharapova defeated Australia's Samantha Stosur 6-3, 6-4 in women's singles clash of the French Open at Court Philippe Chatrier in Paris.
After her win, the BBC reported that she thanked her fans and said that she was lucky to have won at Roland Garros in the past.
With this victory, Sharapova has sealed a place in the French Open fourth round.
