Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee at his residence here.
In 1999, when Vajpayee was the prime minister, he had taken a historic bus ride to Lahore to attend a summit with the Pakistan leadership there. He was received by Sharif at the Wagah Attari border check post.
The two had then signed the famous Lahore Declaration which spelt out a series of measures for improving ties between India and Pakistan.
Sharif has already held bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Pranab Mukherjee.
He is scheduled to hold a press conference shortly at the Taj Mansingh Hotel, where he has put up during his stay in New Delhi.
Earlier, Pakistan's Prime Minister paid a visit to Jama Masjid in New Delhi after witnessing Narendra Modi's anointment as India's 15th Prime Minister yesterday.

Sharif offered prayers at the historic Jama Masjid and met the Shahi Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari ahead of his meeting with Prime Minister Modi.
He also visited the Red Fort in Old Delhi along with his other members of his delegation.
