Is Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif outsourcing his country's various projects to its key ally China? It certainly appears so in the wake of a Chinese company offering to fund three water, environment and road infrastructure projects in the garrison city of Rawalpindi.
China Railway First Group Ltd. has told the Punjab government that it is ready to fund three mega projects, including 9 billion rupees Chirah Dam, 50 billion rupees Leh Expressway and Flood Channel and 10 billion rupees city's sewerage system in the city, Dawn reports.
The company wants to build these projects in collaboration with Scitech Corporation Pakistan.
The Punjab government has invited its representatives in Lahore on September 5 to discuss the mode of investment.
