Pakistani nationals, who arrived in India on Thursday to attend an event here, said that if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has allegedly made a statement on Kashmir being a flashpoint for a possible war against India, it would harm bilateral ties.

Mohammad Akram said: "We have been given such a warm welcome, there should not be such statements from any level. Such statements only vitiate the atmosphere and create problems for the common man."

Another Pakistani trader Asif Nazir said: "I haven't heard of any such statement given by

Nawaz Sharif. Trade between two nations has just got wings. We are like two real brothers. Even if they fight, the third person should strike a compromise between them.

Usman Peerzada director Peerzada Theater however said: "I am of view that the word war should not be used between two nations. Nawaz Sharif has always wanted peace and cordial relations between India and Pakistan."

Tasneema Peerzada, another Pakistani artist, said: "We should leave politicians aloof and talk of peace, love and friendship. We can't change our neighbours, so, there shouldn't be war talk in any way."

The Pakistani delegation is here to take part in a week-long Indo-Pak trade fair called PITEX and a cultural extravaganza "Sanjh".
