Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said the United States should mediate in the Kashmir issue, despite India rejecting third party intervention in the long-standing dispute.

Sharif also expressed hope that the drone strikes issue would be resolved soon.

According to the Daily Times, he further said that Pakistan would try to resolve the Kashmir issue with India peacefully, but if bilateral negotiations failed, then, he added, there was no harm in seeking third party intervention.
