Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D.Raja on Monday said Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's decision to raise the Kashmir issue at the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) is an indication of Islamabad's desire to consistently internationalise the matter which will further create tensions and acrimony between the two nations.

"It is a known position of Pakistan. Pakistan, at any given opportunity, has been raising the Kashmir issue, and it is clear that Pakistan is bent upon internationalising the Kashmir issue to which India has never agreed. It may lead to further tension and acrimony, which Pakistan will later have to realize," Raja told ANI.

"What we have been saying is that problems should be solved in a bilateral way, but Pakistan is not agreeing to this," he added.
