Former England striker Alan Shearer has said that Arsenal's ace centre-forward Danny Welbeck can score 25 goals a season for the club.
Welbeck joined Arsenal from Manchester United for 16 million pounds on transfer deadline day, and could make his debut against Manchester City on Saturday.
Shearer said that he has heard people say that Welbeck is never going to be a 20 or 25-goals-a-season striker, and added that he disagrees with that view. He said that the Arsenal striker now has an opportunity to stamp his authority on the Premier League, The BBC reported.
On Thursday, Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal said Welbeck did not score enough goals during his time at Old Trafford.
The Manchester-born forward, who netted both of England's goals in the 2-0 win in Switzerland on Monday, has not managed more than nine goals in a Premier League season since making his senior debut in 2008.

After joining Arsenal, Welbeck said he hoped to get the opportunity to play in a centre-forward role.
Shearer, who came through the youth ranks at Southampton before joining Blackburn Rovers in 1992, feels that Welbeck has made the right decision to swap Old Trafford for Emirates Stadium.
The former England international said that when he left Southampton at nearly 22, he was not a regular goalscorer, adding that he scored a hat-trick on his debut and then found goals quite hard to come by.
Shearer said that it is not until one feels like the main man or part of a team that the confidence comes out. He added that once Welbeck gets in that Arsenal team and gets three or four goals, he can go on and get a load of goals.
