The special Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) court on Friday rejected the bail application of Sanjeev Khanna, one of the accused in the Sheena Bora murder case.
The application was filed by accused on the merits of the case challenging CBI's claim of his involvement in the crime.
Khanna's lawyer Shreyansh Mithare confirmed to ANI that Khann's bail application had been rejected.
Earlier, the CBI had opposed Khanna's bail stating that there was sufficient criminal conspiracy and criminal motive to deny bail and claiming that he was an active part of the conspiracy.
On Monday, Khanna had appealed for bail on grounds that the CBI had failed to prove that he was present with his ex wife Indrani Mukherjea or that he had any motive to commit the crime.
The CBI had also alleged that Khanna was in cohorts with Indrani over murdering Sheena to protect the property of their biological daughter Vidhie.
