Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has invited Bangladeshi expatriates based in the United Kingdom to take advantage of the opening up of maritime boundaries between Bangladesh and Myanmar and Bangladesh and India to invest more in their motherland.
During an interaction with Bangladeshi expatriates in London, Sheikh Hasina specifically asked the Sylhet Diaspora to visualize the investment potential especially in the energy sector.
The Daily Star quoted her, as saying that British firms were equally welcome to participate and compete for gas and oil exploration in the Bay of Bengal.
She made the request when a five-member delegation of All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), led by Lord Sheikh, met her at Hotel Hilton on Park Lane in London.
Hasina said Bangladesh has a stable and vibrant society where business has been thriving.
