The Shiv Sena on Thursday slammed All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen party (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi for his remark that he won't chant 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' slogan and demanded the cancellation of his Indian citizenship.
The Shiv Sena in its mouthpiece Saamna, urged the Muslims of the country to chant 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' to show their opposition to Owaisi.
"Owaisi has insulted Mother India by doing so. Therefore, the Muslims of the entire nation should chant 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' slogan to show their opposition to Owaisi. The citizenship and the right to vote of all those people should be snatched who don't chant the slogan," the Shiv Sena said in its editorial.
Quoting Owaisi's statement, the Shiv Sena said that it seemed that the AIMIM leader, under the influence of alcohol, which is prohibited under Islam, had said such things.
"Alcohol or any kind of drug addiction is prohibited under Islam but it seems that Owaisi had made the statement under the influence of alcohol. It is very necessary to 'legally cure' psychopath Owaisi who calls himself an Indian by attacking on the back of Mother India," the editorial added.
