Shooting begins for upcoming Arabic Netflix series 'Jinn'

Netflix's upcoming Arabic language series 'Jinn' has commenced shooting at several locations in Jordan. This will the streaming platform's first ever series in the language.

The shooting locations in Jordan include Petra, Wadi Rum and also in the capital city of Amman.

The supernatural drama is a six-part series which revolves around a group of Arab teenagers whose lives change as they accidentally call upon supernatural forces of a mystical creature, Jinn. Many budding middle eastern actors have been given a chance in the series.

First in line is Salma Malhas, who will play the role of Mira, a teenager who is devastated by her mother's death.

 

She learns to love after she meets Keras (Hamza Abu Eqab), the Jinn whose sole purpose is to guard the vigilante Jinns.

Sultan Alkhalil is playing the role of Yassin, who struggles with the ways of the world. He even strikes an unusual friendship with Vera (Aysha Shahalthough), who is out for vengeance.

Jinn is slated to release around the world in 2019.
