Japanese tennis ace Kei Nishikori has admitted that he feels a bit jealous of his tennis opponents being cheered on courtside by wives and girlfriends.

Nishikori believes that tennis players have a long schedule within a year and it would relieve some of the stress for the players if they are accompanied by their partners. He said that it would be nice to have someone with him on tour one day, Sport24 reported.

Nishikori also described Federer as the most frightening player as, he believes, he pulls off wonder shots, almost nonchalantly. Nishikori was defeated in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 by Federer in round-robin play last week in London, which was subsequently followed by his defeat against Djokovic in the semi-finals.

Nishikori further said that he felt like a child at the Tour Finals as he was the smallest player among the eight contenders. He believes that he possess weapons like quickness and a different style of play to take on the top players and would be aiming for a grand slam next year.
