Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday apologised to the people of Varanasi for cancelling his visit due to the weather.
Prime Minister Modi took to Twitter to share his message.
"Was eagerly awaiting the Varanasi visit but unfortunately due to the weather I had to cancel. Sincere apologies to the people of Varanasi," he tweeted.
Prime Minister Modi was scheduled to Varanasi this afternoon. He was expected to inaugurate a trauma centre, lay the foundation stone for various development projects and also scheduled to address a public meeting.
