In reaction to the alleged desecration of the Holy Quran, a crowd of 200 persons attacked the minority community's temple in Larkana, Jaffarabad districts of Sindh and some areas of Balochistan, triggering a partial strike.

The incident occurred overnight after some people claimed that they found burned pages of the Quran in a garbage bin near the home of a Hindu man, the police said.

According to the Dawn, the police said that the alleged desecrater had rented the house from a Muslim family and may have burned the holy book inadvertently while cleaning the house before moving in.

While the man was taken into protective custody, the affected areas observed a complete shutdown resulting in businesses and shops remaining closed for the day.
