Singapore Changi Airport has been named the World's Best Airport at the annual SkyTrax World Airport Awards for the third time in a row, a report said.
The awards were announced on Wednesday in Paris, reported the CNN.
While welcoming the recognition, Changi Airport CEO Lee Seow Hiang said that it was "particularly" pleasing as it came at a time when the airport is undergoing a transformation.
The airport handles 5,000 arrivals and departures a week by 80 international airlines. The authorities awarded a 234 dollar construction contract for the expansion of Terminal one.
Incheon International Airport near Seoul earned the second spot on the list for the third time in a row, followed by Germany's Munich Airport.
The World Airport Awards, also known as the Passenger's Choice Awards, were started by air transport advisory group SkyTrax in 1999.
